Degree and Official Master in Film & Audiovisual Media

The Degree in Film and Audiovisual Media aims to offer professional training and education in all the specialist areas necessary for audiovisual production, with an emphasis on practical classes and teamwork.

Objectives

To provide knowledge about: the processes involved in capturing, processing and reproducing images and sound; the audiovisual language from the writing of the screenplay up to the final editing; and the associated industrial processes.
To encourage critical and productive thought on concepts, methodological instruments and evolutionary structures for film and the other current and future audiovisual media.

Requirements

Holding a high-school certificate of any type and having passed the university entrance exam / Having a secondary level VT (Vocational Training) qualification or an Advanced Vocational qualification / Having any university degree or evidence of having previously started university studies / There is the option of access with a test for those over 25, an access test for those over 45, as well as possibility of access with accredited work or professional experience.

  • Any student who wishes to register for the Degree must complete the centre's own test.

One-year beginners’ course aimed at anyone interested in getting directly involved in the subject, either to complement other courses or as a bridge to facilitate direct access to the Degree in film and audiovisual media taught by ESCAC.

Objectives

To offer an initial introduction to the media, providing the knowledge necessary to understand and create audiovisual work. It will cover basic knowledge, both theoretical and practical, of the different disciplines within the area, so that potential future film-makers can discover whether this is the right area of study and the right career for them.

Curs de Construcció efímera

Curs Course on Ephemeral Construction

The creative talent and vision of art directors counts for nothing without a great team of professionals who can implement the staging ideas and designs for a film. This course was created to train great professionals in the cinematographic techniques associated with temporary construction.

Objectives

To train the students to carry out temporary construction projects for the audiovisual and cinematographic industry, participating especially in the design and pre-production phases and using both high quality techniques and materials and the latest generation applied software. Although the course places its emphasis on the cinematographic and audiovisual industry professionals may work in any branch of show business and entertainment (theatre, dance, installations, music, opera, theme parks, etc.).

Requirements

These studies do not have a specific entry qualification and the qualification students receive is at the vocational training level.

Objectives

To provide a theoretical and practical overview of the functions and applications of the marketing, exploitation and sale of cinematographic products. To develop the foundations for coordinating marketing activities. To prepare the student to use support instruments and tools in marketing and sales decisions. To enable the student to analyse different situations and subsequently take decisions by applying what they have learned in class: setting objectives and goals, establishing strategies to follow and planning actions.

Objectives

To enable the student to be responsible for the artistic creation of the images for the staging of any audiovisual work, be it a film, television or video production. To make the right choices with regards to issues such as lighting, optics, framing and composition and textures when creating the image of an audiovisual work.

Requirements

Having a university degree / Have studied art, film or audiovisual media / Accredited to form part of the audiovisual industry / To have worked as a director of photography in professional formats such as HD, 35mm and 16mm. If this is not the case, you must first take the Cinematography Workshop

To look in more depth at the artistic and technical aspects of film editing, training the student in both the reflective analytical aspect of the audiovisual material and the use of editing tools and software. The student will learn how to edit audiovisual works, learning the methods and techniques of the editing and post-production processes undertaken by both the editors and the other members of the editing team.

To look in more depth at the theoretical and technical aspects of film production, enabling the student to successfully take part in the production supervision of a feature-film, from designing the screenplay to the standard copy. To learn the methods and techniques involved in the production processes during the preparation, shooting and post-production of a feature-film.

A theoretical explanation will be provided of the notorious peculiarities of the audiovisual world, the work process and the language used there, and its application at a theoretical and practical level, with basic ideas about the operation of the main working tools: the camera and the editing table. To create and complete an audiovisual project in a group. To watch and analyse audiovisual works.

Requirements

These courses are perfect for students aged between 13 and 17, whether they intend to take the Degree course or not.

ESCAC offers two one-week editions of the course. We aim to encourage the use of the audiovisual narrative as an essential interdisciplinary tool, that is useful to develop projects or to complement or guide any other subject or department.

Objectives

A teacher with this training will be able to: · Create and implement a audiovisual narrative program at the curriculum · Use the knowledge acquired to apply it to any subject

The course will provide the teacher the basic audiovisual narrative techniques on scriptwriting, film shooting and post-production. We will fathom conceptual questions rather dramatical or technical, that will be solved during the recording and postproduction of the films produced during the course.

Being a Secondary School teacher.
